Reset taps at the track

I'm going to the track tonight to play with some TCM tuning. I'm going to start out with a 1st gear delete tune, run a couple of different ECM tunes, then reflash the TCM to use JoshH's "early converter lock up tune" using all 6 gears.

Question is, do I need to reset the taps after flashing to Josh's tune? Am I risking grenading something if I go out and immediately make a hard pass right after a TCM reflash, or just crappy shifts?

Finally, if I need to reset the taps, how do I do it with the DVT tab in EFILive. Running 7.5.4, so I've got all 4 boxes at the top of the screen.

Questions, comments, advice, donations,.......?

Thanks!

I do not like resetting TAPs between passes. Doing that diverges the shifts instead of converging the shifts. It can make you run slower and possibly hurt the trans. I smoked a set of C3's in my truck with 2 passes at the strip after a TAP reset.

:thankyou: Mike.

My concern was after running the first gear delete tune (similar to Kat's) then going back to a "normal" tune, how the 1-2 shift would behave on a hard launch, especially if I'm trying to lock the converter quicker with the second tune. Just trying to avoid doing something that might be obvious to others, but oblivious to me!:banghead:
