So I am in my garage drinking a sam adams Oktoberfest (which is worth a buy) tinkering on my truck and I hear a Duramax pull up and back up.. I thought it was my buddy so I go to the door to see and its a Nice LMM with a repo bed/hoist on it backing up to neighbors driveway. He locks down on a car and jumps out and I guess going to check VIN, when the neighbor comes out yelling and screaming at him. This is like right across the street and I have beer in hand so I decide to take a minute to watch, this is better than operation repo lol. He keeps telling the guy theres nothing he can do, but the guy is pissed. He pulls straps out of the tool box to put over the wheels and the guy is trying to block him and everything. his wive (i think) comes out and is on the phone saying shes calling the company and that they are paid. The truck driver just pushes the guy back with his hand is like in a loud voice "Pay your payment and then you can come pick up the car, right now your being an idiot and I'm taking the car" the little guy just kinda backs off and the driver finishes strapping the wheels and drives off. The husband and wife start arguing at each other as they go int the house.

I notice a garage over the neighbor has a beer too and is watching and looks at me and shakes his head with a smile.

The car was some pos toyota and they have like 343253 cars always parked in the street anyway. You think they wouldn't have caused such a scene. lol

Quality entertainment right there. I wanna go ask them if there defaulting on any other car payments so I can invite my buddys over with some beer for next time :spit:

haha That is some funny shit. It ****in' sucks when that happens to you though. I remember my dick**** for a neighbor called a tow company for our old honda because it was facing the wrong way on the street while we were outta town for about a week... Came back and at 5.30 in the moring the next day we all got wokin up by the towtruck, He said he left a note saying to move it in 48 hours or it will be towed. Had to explain to him that everybody was gone on vacation.... Sooooo if anyone gets a 48 hour notice, forgets to move their junk and is wokin up by the repo man, just say you've been outta town LOL.

I was thinking about buyin some leinenkugel ocktoberfest earlier when i was at liquor barn, Damn shoulda gotten it. Is taht Sam Adam's stuff any count, I've never had any of there beers :(?

You see some the best things at home and out in town. Last good one a woman at the grocery talking to manager about she needed to have ID to cash check. She says she always has without needing before. I guess her boyfriend or husband was in the night before with a fake ID trying to cash a check. The clerk says he was in here last night. He looks stunned. It was not me the guy says. Then to wife or girlfriend it wasn't me babe. i swear and out the door they go.

Repo'ing can have some entertaining moments. One of my roommates in college used to do it and I'd go with him from time to time. We didn't use a tow truck though but rather kinda stole the cars. They (the repo company) would either get a key with the contract OR get a key code and cut their own key for the vehicle. We'd roll up, get in and leave. Simple as that.

I was never there for anything too cool but it was pretty neat. I did see a poor ol' white boy who was dating a black girl break down like a little girl when we took HER car. I felt bad for the guy.

About the funnest was a nice Mercedes car. Tracked the woman down at her work - she was a manager at an up-scale clothing store - she was completely stunned. You know how you just sorta laugh when something crazy is happening? That's kinda how she was. "This is just too wild. Hahaha" "I can't believe this. Hahaha" She had a little hottie go get some of her things out of it then we rolled out.

We got to repo a 70 Cuda one time as well. It was one where the owner said come get it. We didn't really have to steal it. Still sweet though.

Overall, that was pretty good experience. Woulda been a lot easier to make better money with a tow bar on a pickup though. Much faster!

We do a lot of repo work for heavy equipment lenders. Cat, Komatsu, Deere, Bobcat, etc. We do some trucks and trailers at times. Usually get in, get out and get gone in a hurry without issue, but there's been some good stories.

One of the best ones was a lender that had called a said he had an assignment that was a little different. The borrower was some real estate developer wheeler dealer who had a Porsche that he was like 6 months delinquent on and wouldn't return the finance company's calls.

So we go to this swanky upscale neighborhood to check it. Small, tight private streets and lots of big houses. Well the guy must know something's up because the car sitting on the street with a car almost touching each bumper. It's boxed in pretty tight. To this day, I still don't know why he didn't have it garaged or hidden someplace.

Well we'd never repo'd a car before, so we decide the only thing to do is go up to the door and demand them to voluntarily surrender. It works for contractors sometimes. He answers the door and we explain the situation. This dude is furious, arrogant and obnoxious. He goes absolutely apeshnit. He's not gonna give it up so we turn to leave. As we're walking away he yells "let's see ya get it outta there anyhow bigboy!"

No big deal. We go back to the shop and load a forklift on the trailer and head back. We unload the forklift outside subdivision and drive through the neighborhood back to this guys house. In just a few seconds we've got his car 8 feet in the air and we're backing out from the blocking vehicles. Just as we start to drive away down the street, this clown comes running out from the house and he is berserk. We just continued on as he threatens, screams, etc..

By now all of the neighbors are coming out to see what the commotion is. A woman asked from her driveway what the problem was and I just said that we we're sorry for the disruption, but if her neighbor would just pay his bills these kind of disturbances wouldn't happen.

That one was definitely different than the average bulldozer repo.

I've helped a buddy repo before. Its all fun nd games until your in the hood in San Antonio and get a gun pulled on you by a 6' tall" black boy. But he ended up being pretty cool and turning over the keys. I still almost had a heart attack though.

But one of the funniest ones I went on was a early '90s chevy truck. The guy would not park it in one place for more than a day. We finally found it late at night at some house. We had been pissed because we couldn't get it, and now that we had it we did a massive burnout in the driveway and made a couple victory laps in front of the house.
