Does anyone have info on replacing the light bulbs in a 2006 Sierra SLT that illuminate the controls on the steering wheel, and those that back-light the fuel gauge? I just want to replace with the normal bulb. I have several burnt out.

The steering wheel ones are not LED.. they're regular 12v incandescent. It's cheaper to buy the whole button assemblies than it is to try to replace them if you just want stock backlighting.

If you want to replace them with a different color, you need to solder LEDs in their places and put some resistors in the harnesses.

The cluster has regular bulbs also (soldered to the board).

Correct.

The only ones that are already LED are a few of the smaller ones in some of the door switches. Everything else is incandescent. Dash, 4x4 switch, headlight switch, HVAC, radio, etc.

^^^^^ and they can be found on eBay. The wires are short and can be a PITA a pics of dental floss works well to pull the wires securely into the plug on the new switch as it is pushed into its hole.
