replacing just 1 injector

what is everyones take on replacing just 1 injector?

i have 36k on this set replaced last by the dealer and am now over 200k.

#2 as of recently has been acting odd. sometimes a stumble/ miss at idle in drive when hot and a balance rate of +10 when it does this with a slight puff of smoke.

no fuel in the oil etc.

i just flashed it back to stock from a 500whp tune and put soem diesel kleen in it. and drove 10 miles and back and it was back to normal, balance rate of +1.6 or so (still the worst of all injectors) drove it another 10 miles and it was +3.7 in drive (the worst of all of them)

the rest are all under +/- 1


so what to do? see if it gets better with diesel kleen and then go from there etc?? seems rare for it to fail with so few miles on them

Not really uncommon

Lot of money just to replace 1 injector ( gaskets ) I would pull it though JMO

The injector itself may not be the reason for the balance rate problem. The numbers you reported last are okay. I would drive it and see if the problem continues. There is not a problem with replacing just the one if that is the problem. It is time consuming though.

lol, no more time consuming that replacing oil pumps that randomly crap out and cp3's that grenade themselves..... my brother and i are aparently seeing the most rare issues that dmax's have .....

if it continues i'll replace the 1 .... where is the best place to buy them? pensecola seems to have a bad rep

if it stays "normal" i guess i'll keep driving it and closely monitor it

You can buy Bosch from Pro-formance injection for around 200 ea.

My worst ones around -3.3 after I drive it a bit. Mine operates just fine foster. What have people seen as worrisome as far as balance rates go?

well after about 100 miles today it seems to be between +1.2 and +3.1 in drive when warm so i guess its ok for now, not sure why it was missing / showing +10 yesterday

maybe i'll start running an additive on a more regular basis if it seems to keep it within specs
