This question probably has been asked before and discussed a lot.. I'm still gathering parts to replace my injectors and was wondering with 255,000 would you try to clean fuel lines myself bead blast, or just buy new. I read a lot of war stories with contamination from old fuel lines or not cleaned properly destroying new injectors. I'm pretty sure new will be the best way to go, but prices vary so much on remans vs new.

When I replaced my injectors I bought new lines being they were replaced twice before. If yours haven't been replaced before or are in good shape I would clean them up with a brass wire brush, I believe that's what people say to use. If you don't have the time though I would just replace them.

Also if you re-use them soak em in the household cleaner CLR. I did this when I did my injectors and wow what a deference. They'll look close to new. :thumb:

If you are going to replace the lines I would replace them with new lines. Let us know if we can help.

Thanks for the replies, just trying to get everything I need first. The injectors have been changed twice before so this will be the fourth set..I'm not sure on the fuel lines being replace as the injectors were changed by the dealer under warranty both times.
This will be my first time working on a Diesel, besides regular maintenance. Should be interesting changing injectors ,up-pipe, down-pipe, Y bridge, and intake a horn and removing all the EGR stuff. I just want to do it myself just to see if I like working on a Duramax. Wife better grab the cash first I'm thinking a build might be in the future. I have definitely learned a lot from members here and reading posts. Thanks to all
