removing antenna.....

i bought the delete piece and removed my antenna. The antenna is now sitting on the pass side fender like everyone one else. Everyone said they still get great reception but i dont i get crap for reception now. I dont want to put the antenna back up so is there anything else to try?

How did you fasten the base? I am not sure if being grounded has anything to do with your issue or not. I made a bracket and mounted mine to ground and have the ant. not touching anything with a rubber grommet on the end.

i didnt make a bracket up for the base. i just laid it down and made a couple brackets for it....maybe thats my problem????

i know with cb antenna's your ground is one of the most important things if you dont have a good ground you dont have reception

alrighty i will ground it this weekend. i will probaly cut the ears off the base and make a bracket to go around it. thanks guys.
