Browsing the gm upfitter pdf on the express van I see there is a 'remote vehicle immobilizer' DIY add on.

Anyone done this?

Is it as easy as it looks? - tap a wire, add a switch, and run to 12volt +.

Looks like it allows you to have vehicle running, but it won't come out of park unless you flip the secret switch.

I would think a toggle switch wired to your bitsi solenoid would be easier and cheaper. That would at least keep it from coming out of park. Maybe the interlock does a bit more like limit speed?

Copied from upfitter.

For applications where it is desirable to leave the vehicle running but assure that it can not be moved an external +12 v signal can be supplied to the shift interlock solenoid assuring the vehicle will remain in park – see schematic and location drawings. Best access is a the steering column connector X-200 cavity D4 tan white 816 wire.
