LBZ: remote start

Hopefully this topic hasn't been beaten to death, but what company do most of you use for remote start on your trucks? I want a high quality system that can be started from a little ways away. I mean I don't want to be forced to be within 20 yds of my truck for the system to start it. I want something with a little range to it. Thanks in advance. .

Viper mine works up to 2 1/2 miles. And you have the option for a app add on for were it works anywere like the mylink from Gm. Just use your phone to start or unlock or lock anytime anyplace in the world.

I have the Viper SmartStart VSS5000, I'm happy with it.

Viper in mine for the last 5 years. just the base one that has an alarm, locks/unlocks, and remote start. it will work up to 1/4 mile away and i use the shit out of it. it will start from anywhere in my house as well.

How does it work with the glow plugs?

mine just had a wire i hooked up to the cluster that would hold off cranking the truck till the light went out, then it starts right up.

some cheaper models/other brands just use a timer

Oh so its actually designed to incorporate the glow plugs... thats awesome. I'm gunna have to look into this...

Yep. Have a viper on mine as well.

Viper on my truck. Had it for over a year now and love it. Even tells me the temp inside my truck when I hit the remote start.
