Been thinking about adding remote start to my truck, anyone else that has been though this? Any hints on stuff to watch out for when adding this? Also mine is the 04.5 if that matters.

I am looking at the same thing now that it is hits tripple digits daily. Would be pretty sweet to hit a button while still at work, then come out to a nice, cold truck.
I have been looking at several different models, but honestly, it appears there are really only 2-3 manufacturers that re-brand theirs stuff as like 20 different companies, but when you read the manuals, everything is IDENTICAL.
I would also love input from anyone with a remote start. What do you guys think of yours?

I got one and i like it....sometimes. But i didnt put it on myself.
Pros: Winter time the truck is warm and ready to go, when its 5 degrees outside. Having the option to leave the truck running. But can take the keys out of it lock and be able shut it off (timer within 25min), from a 1000ft away. If someone trys to jump in while its running, intruder hits brake pedal the truck shuts off.
Cons: Over time my starter has devolped a problem. It will attempt the starting process but just makes a loud noise, and does nothing. And sometimes I try to start it with the key and CHIRP!! The remotes crap out easy, especially if your someone who drops their keys alot (I have been through a couple). I dont think i have ever gotten it to start inside of walmart, or any large building without windows.
