So my gf has a 2000 chev half ton and got a remote start put in for Christmas and now it says on her cts that it can't communicate with vehicle. Something about needing to turn the ignition on. I'm guessing they messed with the ignition for the remote start and she says she needs her chip because her truck isn't fast enough :D so I'm wondering what I can do... could I possibly tie her obd into switched power or something if I don't see anything obvious with her remote start?

On mine, I couldn't flash an efi tune with the remote start wires hooked to the obd. There's one wire that's tied into the obd connection, I had to disconnect it, flash the truck then hook it back up. It generates some kind of interference with the signal in the obd-ecm.

If that wire that is connected at the obd port is not sodiered, it will create too much resistance and give you issues. Mine is sodiered in and gives me no issues
