Thought I'd dig this up... Just changed the fuel filter on my 08 LMM, after several p0087 codes while towing. What a pain in the A$$ to get to. What is the easiest way to relocate the filter? Would I be better off deleting the factory filter and getting an aftermarket filter setup? What have you guys done? I assume LBZs are the same.

I build my own lift pumps with better filtering and elininate the under hood filter and the filters i use are much cheaper then the stocker also.

I was just looking at BD's remote filter setup Henry has on his site. Anybody have any experience with it?

I'll probably just get a pump filter(s) combo and delete the factory filter. I would think adding the flow restriction of one or two filters it would be a good idea to have a lift pump to help get fuel to the cp3.

So much for leaving this one stock...

I dont have any experiance with the bd pump but if its crap henry wont sell it,not only that but everything i have used from BD has been good stuff. As far as the lift pump on your truck i think its a good thing and i have nothing to suport this statement but i was told when i installed mine if my cp3 was healthy the lift pump would help the cp3 PROBABLY last forever.I would like to believe this.

Any idea how long you can go with a stock fuel filter if you have a good filter ahead of it? Basically just using the stocker as a water separator.

Burndown has the part numbers, but it is stupid cheap to put cat filters on these trucks, CAT sells a generic base that you just mount on the frame with 1/2 lines
