Tuned the truck yesterday with EFI... ECM and TCM. Changed timing, pulse widths, throttle position and all that good stuff. Changed some upshift and downshift speeds too. Question is, how long should it take before the shifts become smooth. 2-3, 3-4, and 4-5 seem to be smoothing out, but 1-2 still bucks pretty good. Would anyone consider that normal? We can always go back and change things, but just curious how long I should give it.

do a search theres plenty on here about trans re-learning... with mine a few good runs through all the gears proggressivly giving it more throttle on each run and then re-peating the process in tow/haul does the trick..

I switched to a really radical race tune not long ago and it took a couple weeks for the trans to settle down and feel completely adapted. You should feel it getting better and better each time you drive it.

Thanks guys. Tranny is not built. Very mild tune. Ik what the relearn process is, just figured there would be an estimate on mileage before things should clean up.
