The Ideal way to do it is to have a Tech II clear the TAPS and put the transmission in fast learn. I know when Mike L does it he monitors TCC lockup via the Tech II and to make sure everything is shifting like it should. Some have done it by simply clearing the TAPS and driving it until it shifts crisp.

sorry i'm new to this whats a TechII and TAPS

Tech II is what GM uses to clear codes, program ECM's, TCM's, changing tire sizes, update Calibrations, basically everything a GM vehicle with a OBD II port needs.

TAPS is the adaptive learning that our transmissions have. It basically adapts to our driving habits. When you rebuild the transmission it needs to learn how to shift again due to the increased line pressure and different TCC lockup etc...

Also I would highly recommend running an 01 TCM the fast learn is extremely fast as opposed to the "smarter" 02-05 TCMs.

I have an MA & have no complaints. Eric has taken very good care of me :D MikeL has not done work for me but I wouldn't hesitate to use him. Mike has also been very good to me. I do not know George but he is spoken highy about by some very respected people
