Hey guys I had some questions and wanted the more knowledgeable to chime in. First off the truck is a rclb 4x4 zf6. Had the basics before now, intake exhaust clutch efi etc. Truck has 200k miles and is basically a toy. I'll drive it around here and there but never really tow much. This build is pretty simple for now as it all happened all of a sudden. Plan to make around 550-600 or whatever me and idahorob think we can get buy with for awhile.I'm sure I'll bring it to the track to see how quick I can get it before maybe next year throw an Allison in it and full build. So far here's what I have and here's what I'm thinking.
Parts to install:
S472 72/83 .90ar
3 inch y bridge ic pipes with 5 inch intake
Lml manifold
Lbz fpr
Head studs with grade c and all the necessities
New clevite bearings
8 new injector cups and full install kit
40% over exergys
Ad165
Revpro valve springs with titanium keepers. The heads are being decked and I'll probably port them myself.

Do I go ahead and key the cam and crank and any one suggest anybody around st louis area.
What am I missing here or can anyone suggest anything. I would love to do pistons and rods and do a full build but this started out as water pump/injectors/turbo. Full intentions of going back to stock but like everyone else gets, the addiction to power got me.
Thanks for all advice, past and present

I'd atleast put in some lbz rods. Not as strong as aftermarket but stronger than what you've got.

Just thinking if I'm going to spend money on rods in the future will it be worth it for a year or so

How will a big single drive with a zf6?

i think it will be alright. Its all gonna depend on how fast you can row her. If you can keep it from losing much pressure between shifts i bet it will be fun, but if you're falling under the turbo every shift its gonna be a pig.

If you can swing it aftermarket rods is something you should highly consider. Your doing all that work it would be a shame if a stock rod let go.

I agree. I realize its a huge cost but like he said... The whole engine is already torn down its the most opportune time to do it. You will want to turn up the power sooner or later I'm sure and if you do Carillos you will be able to rest easy.

Wow this was almost the same setup I had on my old lly rc zf6. You will have no
Problems with what your are starting with. A good Tune and some good shifting the thing will be a rocket. Def gonna need some traction bars

get rods and delipped pistons. too much stress worrying over rods at that power level.

Im assuming you are going to have the rotating assembly balanced, at least i hope you are. Thats one of the best parts about a built motor. So if you are gonna do carillos down the road, you are gonna have to rebalance the rotating assembly again
