rebuilding a 04 Allison to work in an 01

I know the trans line adapters are different, what else has to be changed for the 04 trans to work in an 01? Thanks in advance for your input.

My 02' has a tranny out of a 04' with the g-solenoid valve body in it. I didn't have to do anything different to put it in my truck besides the tranny line fittings.:thumb:

I have fittings that will make it work either way.

Adapter fittings for the cooler lines, and swap the the NSBU.

Swap out 01 bell housing and harness,Some 01 bell housings have oddball bolt patterns.just built a 04 trans for my 01 and used the 04 vb with the g syl but the internal harness is different so will have the use the original harness with the newer vb.Swap Works flawless.

All light duty Chevy trucks have the same bolt pattern. They will match 1955 through 2015. Medium duty trucks will have the SAE bolt pattern.

Thanks for clearing that up. Wasn't sure about it. I've heard a few didn't things.

Ok thanks for the replys I have an 04 trans that a friend is interested in and wanted to make sure it would be a proper fit.
