hey guys dumb guy question..... still tearing down my donor block


the only 12pt 1/2" drive socket i have is 12mm for up-pipe bolts

i have a 14mm on order for the main and rod bolts

what size are the head bolts? are the arp nuts the same? so i can order the right one think its 18 or 19

any other 12 pt sockets needed for the rebuild?

Head bolts are allen heads I think 8mm

IIRC the head stud nuts are 17mm 12point

johnboy, you think those will hold up to torquing the head bolts?? that would be cheaper than a 225 dollar set from snap on!

Yes the craftsman will do fine. Best part is if you do break one all you have to do is take it back for a new one:D I have snap on stuff at work and craftsman stuff at the house:thumb:

i am saving money and am going to be providing numbers to all of the members on this board to see what stock lbz rods will really hold.

single stock cp3 and a 4094r and 40% sticks

i will sled pull them all summer. possibly drag race if get a set of decent track tires. tow. and daily drive year round. and now i have access to a free water brake dyno i will monitor my numbers every time i modify my tune and record report back as to IF the rods bend in chich case i'll look for symptoms and check compression. then in needed tear down motor again measure rods and replace if necessary.

what can i say i'm a team player :hug:

and if i find somebody that wants to swap a 4202 for a 4094 that will be the only turbo change unless a sweet deal comes along that i cant resist. but single stock cp3 will be the max this year.
