dana 80 is frigin huge. you have something against a full floater 14 bolt? Your never gonna save fuel lugging around that big chunk of a rear end.
the 4.5 and newer dodges came with a AAM

The AAM 1150 is pretty strong, and only the G80 is weak. You can get 3.42's for it from Yukon Gear, and run a Dodge-version posi.
Dana 80 uses a smaller ring gear (11.0") than the AAM, is rated for less load than the AAM1150.
Yes, it has more center section options, and that might enough reason to switch, but I'm told a better posi will soon be available for the 1150. But I hear stuff like that constantly.
