Rear Suspension Setup

I know a few guys have asked me about my rear suspension setup so here are some pictures. The tubing is 2"x2" 3/16" wall. Those are dual adjustable coilover shock bodies. I wish I would have put in mounts that went farther down the axle tube or a bracket that was welded to the bottom to have more shock travel but it is what it is and still rides decent lol.

I have other ideas that where given to me from a race car fabricator on how to setup a 3 link with using my current shocks without going crazy on fabrication lol.

Thanks I had some awesome assistance with ideas and welding from some great friends.

Well that's simple.. What spring hangers are those? How low is the truck? Still a long bed I assume?

McGrarth hangers with 3" drop shackles so it drops it around 4"-5”. Still the long bed yes.

By the way everything looks great. Super simple.. Mind posting which shocks you used (like oart number because im lazy and don't like math)?

Obviously work with cal tracs.. Wonder If they make a short bed hanger that will work..

Any chance you have a full side view of the truck? I want to get mine to about a 3/5 but want to run caltracs.. But it's going to be a shorty

Yep Mcgaugthy would be the one. Stupid auto correct. It's not as low as I would like because I went back to a full leaf pack minus the overloads but I needed the extra springs to control the weight transfer. Last year with two leafs it was way to soft.

Yes I cleaned out everything that I didn't need. Fully removed the spare tire bracket and all.

Thanks. It looks like the ones for crew cab should work with cal tracs too.. Guess I'll see someday..

woh woh now guys, im not implying he set it up wrong. just asking cause i couldnt remember if it was 2wd or 4wd and had some more questions. :D

Eric, what was happening when you had the rear end setup really soft? i think you and i talked about this in one of our convos before but i cant remember.

When you guys research the McGaughys front leaf hangers the CCSB and the SCLB trucks use the 6 bolt hangers the CCLB 2500HD 3500HD and ECLB 2500HD use the 10 bolt hanger.

I have a set of McGaughy's drop spindles (picked them up for less than 1/2 price on craigslist) and will be purchasing the front leaf hangars in a month or so and the truck will be down for about week. Leaf spring bushings, UCA, LCA bushings and the previous items mentioned using this to remove the bushings, already tried it on set spare set of leaf springs...

This was the best lubricant I could find to keep the threads from galling. After I removed one bushing full power with my 1/2" impact the threads were barely warm..

Mike. I went out and crawled under the three various dmax trucks we have here at the shop.. Crew short was 8 hole hanger, sclb was 10 hole, cclb is 10 hole also.. It's mg understanding the short bed trucks use the 8 hole and long use the 10 hole
