I've seen a few flat bed trucks with rear mount fuel tanks (where the spare tire would go), anyone know what the part number for these tanks are? Or a similar alternate? Thanks!

My guess would be to not take room up in the bed with an aux tank. And it might be cheaper then a titan tank

Absolutely. May help balance the truck better as well. I'd kinda like to get a fuel cell that's the same or a little bigger capacity than the stock tank with a sump. It's not going to be a race truck at this point. Maybe one day though. I've already moved the batteries to the tool box in the bed, but plan on putting one one the inside of each frame rail once the fuel tank is moved. I've also moved the coolant tank back to the firewall to make room for twins if I can afford them in the future.
Honestly at this point I'm just trying to "clean up" the truck. Doing relatively inexpensive mods that make the truck look how I want it. Plus having something to do keeps me out of trouble. :D

i get what you are saying. i will most likely take the time with the truck being down to relocate some things. keep the spare room ready for the day i can put twins back on.

I'll look at mine and see if I can find a #

Edit: bed is too close to the top of the tank. I do remember the label up there though.

I don't know. I was assuming I'd have to remove the cross member for the spare tire and make new ones.
That looks great. You make that?

a friend of mine from Austin does, and they are amazing. He makes them in basically any size you want and put fittings where you want them and what kind you want. On my race truck all i had to remove was the spare tire support but i have seen some other 1500 with a full-size tubular cross-member that has to be removed

That's awesome. Any idea what a 30 gal tank with a sump and stock sending unit hole would run me? It'd be going in the same place you've got yours so the dimensions should be similar.

Um I love what ur doing but nhrda has different thoughts on this

Moving the fuel tank from stock location and battery not in front of the fire wall bumps you to pro street. Just FYI

Thanks for the heads up. Like I said though, I'm not really planning on making it a race truck. If anything it's my DD and eventually something to shut the ricers up on the street. My main concerns are longevity, fuel economy, setting the truck up how I like and then some fun. I seriously doubt twins would help any of that but that's well down the road unless someone starts giving away 10lb boxes of $20s.:thumb:

for that size im going to have to guess around 700 maybe more. Also he would have to double check that a 30 would fit, that one is a 20 and i think a 30 would fit easy. Hes real backed up on work right now too idk if you could get one before the end of the year lol

Thanks Luke. Backed up til next year huh? Guess that's the price of doing good work. I'll look around at the fab shops here in Cali some more. If not I'll be making a trip to the junk yard or gmpartsdirect. I really appreciate the input guys.
