This question is pertaining to my wifes 4x4 2006 CC 1500. Im hoping someone may know.

Shes been grumbling to me about the a clunk coming from under her truck, in the past it wouldnt happen for me so i just assumed she didnt know what she was talking about.

Tonite when I was using the truck it happened, it happens with acceleration
definitly under the middle of the truck i went under there and the rear drive shaft has a little play on it. It doesnt happen evrytime but it did do it twice for me,

Any ideas? comments are greatly apprecitaed thanks in advance!!

Does it just clunk once or repeatedly?
Is the play in the U-joint or in the yoke coming out of the transfer case?

Itll do it evry once and a while not all the time, i used the truck maybe 3hrs and it happened twice in that whole time. As for the play all I did was grab the drive shaft and try to spin it that has a 1/4 inch play in it.

Is this truck lifted? How many miles on it?

Sounds more like a suspension issue or a loose bolt somewhere then a driveline problem unless it is something inside the T-Case. Maybe a loose mount for the crossmember or torsion rod mounts. Loose mount for the T-Case maybe? Worn out mounts for the engine or Transmission?

The fact that it is intermittent and only under acceleration makes it tough to diagnose-especially over the interwebby!!:D

the truck is stock height with close to 40k mileage. I did crank up the torsion bars a while ago to level out the truck. And im pretty sure there maxed out.

Sounds like the only way for this to get figured out will be when you send over some plane tickets so we can come and hear first hand what's it's doing. It's hard for me to try and think about it when it is 18 degrees and snowing like hell outside.
