What has everyone been using in the rear diff when the stock limited slip fails? I have a 2002 LB7 with One Wheel Peel going on right now. I was thinking of either repairing the stock unit or buying a better one?

I run a grizzly locker in my street truck. Works great but I thinks it's locked more than its unlocked even if I drive it like a grandma.

The dodge posi works pretty good too. Just make sure it's out of an 03+ diesel.

u have a g80 and yes they bust pretty commonly. no clutches in there to swap either thats gonna help anything. swap in a dodge locker or we go with Grizzly lockers.

I believe you are correct. There is a mechanical gear (interial/centrifical lock), but it acts upon clutches to lock both tires together (at least what I've seen from exploded view diagrams). If I'm not mistaken, you removed the clutch packs to install the "mini locker" Tony B and others used to sell....but then it's locked 100% of the time.

I just put an eaton truetrac in and must say it operates very smoothly. I scared my woman the other day when I punched it in a turn and it locked up and we got sideways. :roflmao:
The stock one wouldn't have done that.

ive never seen anything like that before and can not see it working that way. you would have to put an open carrier in the truck first, then drop the spyder gears, and then add a the "mini locker". there is no way to do that in the g80 locker

When I had by gears swapped, I was advised to go with the Dodge posi unit. So far, after about 40,000 miles, it has been trouble free. I think it was around $500.00. Lays two black marks all day long :D
