ok WTF, i'm trying to order some consumables for my plasma cutter so i check all over and find Welding Direct. They seem to have some really good prices so i say **** it i'll just order it and have it 2nd day'd so i can do some work this weekend. the parts weigh about 1lb and i can't get a quote on their site. so i call the place to find out shipping, the lady tells me that she can't figure shipping till the part is ordered and ready to ship. i was kinda in shock, i told her she can just go onto UPS World Ship and put in the weight and zip and it will give her a quote. she says she can't do that, so i say how do you expect me to pay for something w/o knowing how much the shipping will cost. she tells me i'm sorry that's just the way we do things, and usually 2nd day on that item is around $20-30 bucks.
Anybody else see this as a sorry ass way to do business?
rant over.:hello:
