Guys, my lmm is getting a "dead pedal" usually after cruising for at 60 or above for a few minutes. When this happens I can step on the pedal and the engine will surge and buck, sometimes white smoke a little. Usually let off the pedal for a few secs and then all returns to normal. I orignally thought I had a plugged filter, well I changed both of them and there is no change.

No codes and no cel. I will get some logs shortly, my laptops battery decided to die so as soon as my new one gets here I will log the truck and hopefully he'll figure out what is happening.

In the mean time has anybody else run into something similar?

LMM trucks had a problem with the plugs over in the drivers side kickpanel area. They are known to leak water down behind the drivers side kick panel onto the plugs behind it, and the APPS has a junction plug behind there. Ran into this on somebodys truck awhike back. Unplugged the connectors, sprayed em out, and plugged em all back and was good to go. His was throwing a code for no APPS signal though.

What happens after the engine surges/bucks? Does it just not accelerate?

Yes it will not accelerate. It seems like when you mash on it, the engine is trying to come up but something is holding it back. It's really hard to describe the feel.

Mine does this too. Usually in 5th with the converter locked. Hold it to the floor for 10 or so seconds and then unlocks and takes off.

I always figured if thats the only thing I have to complain about that I'm lucky after hearing the bs some guys on here go through.

Happened again on my way to lunch. Holding in the pedal yields a oscillating surge. Punching it does indeed cure for the moment.

Thought I'd update. The issue was the egr. Unplugged it and all is well. Need to block it but a turbo upgrade is soon, so I'll prolly just wait till then.
