This is on my 03 Aurora, and its got me stumped so far. The electronics are similar to our trucks, except the Aurora uses two "integration" modules instead of a normal BCM.

I found a very rare OEM nav radio for the car, and after changing the VIN with my Tech2, low and behold the radio functioned normally in every way, except the darn display didnt work. Turned out it was two burnt out transistors, so my son bought the parts and repaired it. (Yay for the ongoing EE education!!!)

Anyway, I plugged it back into the car, and it works great. Shut the car off, RAP works as it should. Memory of radio works as it should, too.
Open the door, and the radio shuts off as it should. BUT....in about a minute after shutting the car down, the display will flicker back on and it'll give off a glowing whitish blank screen. Open the door, and that screen shuts off. Wait a bit with the doors closed and everything shut off, and its back on again. The radio is getting some backfeed juice from somewhere, and I cant find it. It doesnt seem to be a large drain, as the battery is not dying overnight.

One other thing, I did notice is the "Oldsmobile" splash screen does nto come up when the car is initially turned on or the car is started, but it should be. It only came on when I first plugged the radio in and turned the key to acc.

Im thinking that its possible on this car that I have to reprogram the integration modules for the nav, but have not found any definitive information on the web to verify it. The Aurora guys are nowhere near as inquisitive about their cars as we have been about our trucks. They sure dont look into things as in depth as we do/did.

In the end, if I cant figure this out, I'll just have to put the LUX Bose nav and amp back in. *sigh* Turned out this car acted the same as our trucks to that upgrade, programming and all. But Id rather have the OEM nav in it like this.

I know this is an "out-there" request, and yeah....its a 14 yr old car, but I love finding these kinds of thing out. Does anyone have any ideas that I can try? Ben, calling Ben.....any ideas bud?

Have you let the car sit overnight to see if the radio goes off? My 2017 Denali screen puts off a glow for about 10 minutes after you open the door. Eventually it goes off, but I thought there was something screwed up in the electronics.

Is it a factory radio to the car or is it out of another application? Have you verified the wiring in the car is correct for the new radio?

It is a factory Olds nav unit from 02-03, looks almost the same as a truck INR. They were an option on these cars.
Wiring is correct at the plug. It is the same as if the standard radio was installed. No repinning needed.

If you're sure the wiring to the radio is correct, it sounds like there may be something else going on with the radio itself.

Put an amp meter on all the grounds?

Or try a different head unit. Maybe it's just going nuts inside.

Im going to try to relearn the Rear Integration Module, which controls the Class2 circuit for the interior modules. If that doesnt fix it, then you are probably right. Darn.
