Does anyone drag with a lift? I have a procomp 6" lift that I lowered to 4". Bought the truck with it on and didn't really plan on drag racing but Im getting sick of truck pulling and am thinking of getting into drag racing. How bad am I hurting my times with a lift? What problems will I have? What can I do to make it better for racing other then removing the lift?

Thanks guys

I race with my 4" lift:thumb: You will have the obvious factors against you like, More wind resistance and a little more weight but nothing a couple more go fast parts cant over come;) I pull my torsion bar bolts out to get the front end as low as possible then clamp my rear springs. I have ajustable shocks so I set them on the stiffest setting (9) and ajust tire pressure accordingly. Probably the biggest single thing you need is a small/light second set of tires and wheels. I have been running a beat up set of 285 AT's and with the above, cut 1.6-1.7 60' on the regular.

I can't really say how much the lift hurts but bigger tires definitely do. I run my with a lift like yours and don't have many problems except it seems to get out of alignment easier than without a lift.

your pro comp lift isnt the greatest for drag racing but if your alignment has been stayin after a pull then you should be good. Its easier to knock the alignment out on the UPC drops then the spindle type lifts (unless you have the brand new style spindle lift pro comp just came out with). i drag race my 8" lift all the time on the 37s. i dont like takin the big tires off cause thats not what i run all day on the road and its nice knowing what you can run on the big tires some times ;). your biggest thing is the bigger tires will hurt your 60 ft times and launch. my best 60 ft so far on my heavy ass tires is a 1.90 or 1.89 (cant really remember).

What the heck Eric already sick of pulling? Only pulled once this year haven't ya?

I can't find a good group to pull with our group we had last year is split now half drag racing and half are done pulling so the pullers are a dieing bread around here.

I was cutting like 1.85 60' when I was running the 1/8 mile track and that wasn't shedding any weight or lower tire pressure. I just rolled in off the street and let it rip. Also that was my first time out.
