I had read before that if the LMM ECM went into service exhaust mode or whatever it is for needing a DPF regen, that you must do one before teh ECM can be flashed to a DPF delete tune. Is this correct? I've done a couple of DPF deletes now, but they were all flashed and then the DPF was removed. I just got a call from somebody who has an 07.5 LMM with no DPF, but he had it flashed at a dealer for an issue without knowing it had a tune on it(previous owner said tehre was no tune, but it had no DPF on it). Now he is getting all kinds of DPF codes, and the service exhaust filter message and what not. I had read that to clear it and flash it you have to put a DPF back on it to clear the service exhaust message before you could flash in the delete. Just want to know if this is true or not before I try and flash it for him. If needs be I can borrow a DPF exhaust from one of the guys I did deletes for, just want to make sure if I need it or not first.

No you dont have to put the stock exhaust back on. Ive threw tunes on a couple duramaxs that have limped out cause of no dpf.

Just want to make sure before I open a can of worms. I had read that you had to do a DPF regen before it would clear, but that didn't make any sense if your erasing and completely reflashing it to a DSP5 and a DPF delete why it would matter.
