I'm going to put together an oil cooler setup for my truck, and just need some clarification on the sandwich adapter. I see in an old thread super diesel ported out the Earl adapter. But, sounds like he may be tough to get ahold of. Then I see this:http://www.setrabusa.com/products/oilcontrol/oilfilteradapters/sandwich/index.html My question is: Which part # would be the correct unit to use, AND will it need to be opened up? Or, should I just buy the Earl Adapter and have my buddy machine it, and open it up??

Also, I'm calling on a cooler. I race dirt modifieds, and we use oil coolers on our engines, especially guys that run race gas. I'll find out the exact size, and specs, but I can get it for $250.

I have been doing some reading on this too, my question is a little off topic but are people using this style cooler on top of the stock one? Or do people delete the stock one?

The stock cover is barely what anyone could call a cooler but don't delete it leave it how it is.

It's small but it does a better job than most think. Fluid to fluid heat transfer is much easier than air to fluid. You would need an intercooler sized oil cooler to keep temps at bay towing in the heat if you deleted the stock oil cooler
