Don't post over here much, but I'm planning on going to the dragway for the first time this weekend. Haven't seen a thread for it yet here so I'll throw this out there. Oxford Plains Dragway in Oxford, Maine is having their diesel day this saturday, the 13th. Test n tune at 12, eliminations at 2, and there will also be a dyno there.

Anyway onto my questions. I've had this link saved in my favorites for some time now, and gave me my basic plan for running. My questions are more on setup.
I have a 6" lift and 35s, I MAY be able to get a set of smaller tires to run, but I'm not gonna plan on it. Right now I have a slight angle on my cv's/tie rods. I have washers on my torsion bar adjustment bolts so I can easily pull them out to lower the front, then put them back exactly where they were set before. With the bolts out I have a slightly negative angle. I've got tie rod sleeves, but other than that stock front end. With my truck at normal ride height I have done a couple boost launches at 4-5psi and it launches straight, anything higher than that and it gets squirrely. I'm thinking taking the bolts out will help that some? Should I strap the centerlink, or is that more for pulling a sled? I'm also planning on stopping at the hardware store and getting some u-bolts to build some spring clamps. Should I put them on just the front of the springs or the rear also?
Anything else that I'm missing? Any other tips? I know I'm not going to break any records or anything, but I'd like to give it my best shot. The track is an 1/8, not a 1/4 too if that matters. :driving:

You need center link braces. That is why you are getting squirrely at anything above 5# of boost. The center link is rolling causing your tires to toe in. I also just clamp the front of the overload to the rest of the spring pack. Those big tires will really hurt your top end... Air them down to about 18 ish in the rear and maybe 20-25 ish up front. And as mentioned above just take the torsion bolts out. Good luck!

Oh, i think the Cognito braces are the only ones that will work for you, being your lifted... You should brace the pitman arm as well while your in there I think the cognito kit comes with the brace but its a weld in deal.

Yeah I'm definitely planning on getting braces, just won't be able to get them by this weekend. Just found out about it yesterday... Will strapping the centerlink help or no?

Never thought of airing the tires down. Thanks.

You can set the tie rod with a little tow out, then it will pull to tow in on the launch. Just a little bit works. I run lower PSI in the front, and you can strap it down just watch out for stuff binding
