Our pulling organization here has only one class. And they've become pretty strict on the rules. They pretty much adopted the dhra 2.8 rules. Question is why would they be so strict on having to have a trannsmission blanket on a stock turbo truck.

cos trannies still go boom no matter what turbos they have. especially with the capability for anyone to screw with shiftpoints and call themselves tuners. that and its more fun to be nazis than easy going

Why would they be adopting the rules of an organization that doesn't exist anymore?
2.8 isn't a stock turbo class. Sounds to me like they don't want stock turbo trucks, 'cause if they did, they would make rules for them instead of making them meet the rules of a class they will never be competitive in.
Gather up your stock turbo buddy's and so them how many trucks they could have if they offered a class that you could be competitive in...strenght in #'s!
Also show them the NADM rules..for stock trucks.

Taken from TTTPA website. I know it has nothing to do with the transmission blanket, but this is why we think they are just using DHRA rules.

"44. The vehicle is limited to a single turbocharger; the inducer bore on the compressor housing may be no larger than 2.8 inches measured at the smallest diameter area of the compressor wheel. A bushing may be used to downsize the compressor housing ahead of the wheel. If a bushing is used, it must be round, at least 3/4 inch long, mounted within 0.050 inch of the compressor wheel, and the inside diameter of the bushing may not exceed the 2.8 inch limit. If you have any questions regarding the construction of a bushing, contact DHRA Technical Services before the season starts. The inlet will be measured using a 2.85 inch plug. A stock map width enhancement (MWE) groove is allowed. No MWE groove will be allowed that has a width greater than 1/4 inch. All provisions allowing air to the wheel other than via the bore and the MWE groove are prohibited. "

Yea, looks like someone is doing a cut-n-paste from a saved file.
I'd keep pushing them for stock truck rules. Hopefully they saved those also.

If you competing in a 2.8" turbo class you need to meet the rules even if you dont have 2.8" turbo. I have seen more than a coulpe clutch explosions. It is not pretty. I have a blanket for that reason and to meet rules. Buying blanket is a very good idea.

blankets are not expensive and are there for your safety. If they save you once they were worth the investment.

Although on a stock truck they are alittle overkill.

Our rules here and most other organizations only require one if going over 4500RPMs, which i dont know of many guys who hold 4500RPMs in 4th going down the track.

And thank you Kat.
