Anyone know about Bell helmets?

We bought one around 2002 to autocross with, so I took the visor off. Now, I need the visor, but it is somewhere in the house in Montana. I can't seem to find any replacment visors around here. Hell, I can't even tell what model of helmet it is. It doesn't have any model number on the tags/stickers anywhere. In looking online, the helmet looks identical to this: http://www.genuineaccessories.com/HlmtsFF/STAR2NEW.htm

Bell corporate was no help; they said they sold their name several years back so someone else made our helmet and they just recently bought the name back. No one around here carries Bell helmets and the place we bought it from in MT doesn't carry them anymore(they dropped them because they couldn't get them for a few years). Anyone know how to figure out what model I have??

If you bought it in 2002 I would recommend a new helmet. Accepted helmet life is 5 years in the motorcycle community, or if it ever contacts the ground from more than a drop falling off your bike.

I used there off road helmets for racing when they bought bell back in 06/07ish and the quality is superb again, in 2002 they sold there quality with there name imo and always remember you cant put a price tag on your head so a new $400 and up shoei, arai, or other top helmets shouldnt be out of reach....

I appreciate the comments folks. The "mystery" deepens some....

According to the current Bell corporate, they sold their name several years back, allowing other vendors to build "Bell" helmets. They recently purchased the name back and are back in the helmet business. Hence the reason why they were no help to me (my helmet was made by someone else).

Like mentioned above, I pulled the padding out; the sides and chin come out easily, but the upper part is pretty well fixed. On the right side, I found a sticker and thought AHA. However, the sticker reads "Pole Position". I can't find a reference anywhere to a Pole Position model made under the Bell name. The search engines return a hit for that model as a Bieffe helmet. A picture of the Bieffe helmet looks identical to what I have and the picture in the link I posted above.

After I found this stuff, I removed the fabric liner. Stamped into the plastic, I found "Bieffe RT" which seems to match up with a Bieffe RTX model helmet (picture looks similar). The tag on the fabric liner says it was made in Italy where Bieffe is based. So, is it possible it is a Bieffe helmet "hiding" under a Bell name?????

I'm ready to pull my hair out at this point...
