I am kind of interested in this steering system, i have had it with cognito and fabtech tierods, straight centerlinks, cognito braces ect. I would like to know what parts are included in this kit, and if someone has a pic of it installed on the truck. Thanks

yeah I'm in the same boat....seen more info on it over on DP.

I'm pretty much fed up with cognito stuff.....2 set of inners tie rods on both sides in a year is a bit extreme.

Plus the brace kit hits the frame on the passenger side.

Not too impressed with that.

Yeah, I have worn out inner joints that I have to pay for first for them to warranty them. They told me their new ones are chromoly lined. I just had enough of the runaround. I would like a kit where I can buy replacement pieces locally

Lucky for you guys, i was one of two guys who originally bought/used their kit and posted on DP about it :D. I can honestly say its the strongest steering setup out there that will last. ive put the kit through its paces, few others have done the same, and ive tried jsut about every combo out before this kit. I have a looooong write up on what ive put it threw.

You get a new center link, the tie rod adjustors (so you can adjust toe in and out), 1/2" billet steel idler arm brace with roller bearing that is greasable, and jam nuts to go with. As long as your idler/pitman arm are in good shape and the factory outer tie rods are still good all you will have to buy separate is the inner tie rods. if you have to buy all of it (most do), it will be about 1000 bucks by the time your done but you wont have to touch anything for a looooong time. Im at 45k with this kit without touching any steering parts and ive only jsut replaced an inner tie rod and my pitman arm is jsut starting to give a bit of in and out play (not rotating back and forth like how most wear out, the arm is actually wearing as its suppose to), id be lucky to get 10k out of steering parts before. right before she got parked i raced it at track the night before the NHRDA event and she launched straight as an arrow at 15-20psi and jsut a bit of toe in due to my lift.

I dont wanna sound like a sales guy or anything as im not affiliated with Mac at EXAXT, i jsut know this kit is bad ass and ive tested the hell out of it

I've been looking at it too. Don't know if I'm going about it the wrong way, but I've emailed them twice and still no response. I'd kinda like to rebuild my front end once..... the right way lol :D

Do they have a pitman arm brace?

no but due to big brace they send, there isnt a real need for one. it woulndt stop anything as the next weak poiint is the frame its self where the idler arm support brackets is welded to the frame, even with the weld in little bracket you can get from cognito, the frame still flexes under heavy heavy load. Even with a pitman arm bracket, it would still flex. we need something like the dodge guys have for their steering boxes to stop frame flex.

I've been looking at it too. Don't know if I'm going about it the wrong way, but I've emailed them twice and still no response. I'd kinda like to rebuild my front end once..... the right way lol :D

Youa re emailing mac right? he takes a while. calling him is the best route and hes a super nice guy. he will talk you through the kit and what hes found with it

what about that new kryptonite setup from DmaxStore?

Its much better than using a facotry center link or straight center link with cognito/fabtech HD tie rods but its a step below exaxt only due to them using the cogntio braces to keep the center link from rotating. those braces will still allow rotation of the center link under load as the braces are not strong enough. the DMAX store cant make a better braces due to cognitos patent so they are kinda stuck at using those braces for now. Me and the guy tompat on DP talked with those guys for a while picking their brain on why they did what they did.

Rare Parts have some nice tie rods. They seem to be made as well as any and priced competitively too.

Jsut a bit of info to add to that, they build the DMAX stores kryponite stuff. its pretty much the same thing but private labeled ;) :D

I thought the dmaxstore setup was basically an Exact ripoff?

it pretty mcuh is other than they cant make a brace like exaxt does due to copy right infringments with cognito (this is what i was told from the dmax store). exaxt can get away with it due to them being in canada.

I'm at 74,000 miles with the stock inner and outer tie rods with sleeves and the brace kit and running a straight center link. I don't see the reason of spending the money on the high dollar tie rods when you can buy the stock one anywere anytime and reinstall your sleeves and your good to go again.

I have 151,000 miles on all my factory original tie rods and ball joints.

The only things that have been replaced in my front end is the pitman arm, the idler arm, and of course wheel bearings.

BUT. When the time does come to do tie rods, im going with the Exaxt setup because I want something truly bulletproof, and I dont want to lose turning radius.

the only thing i hate about the straight centerlink is the tire scrub you get turing, the increase in bumpsteer and reduced turing radius. It definitely does work to keep your steering together and last but at the price of worn tires and a little worse handling for the normal every day driver

This kit is the only thing i could make to get my steering to last.

Heres a bit of a run down of what ive tried to get things to last:

1st. stock centerlink with fabtech tie rods, idler/pitman arm would wear out every 5k.

2nd. same as above but with cognito braces. idler/pitman arm wore out every 10k and i bent a fabtech tie rod under WOT up a cinder hill in 4hi

3rd. factory centerlink with braces and factory new GM tie rods with sleeves. broke the ball off the outer tie rod rock crawlin up a trail in sedona. still wearing out idler/pitman arm every 10k.

4th. SD straight centerlink without braces and bent back old fabtech tie rods. centerlink stayed on for 1k and i took it off and sold it. made the truck handle like crap off road and was quickly killin the outer edges of my tires.

5th. EXAXT kit with Moog problem solver outer tie rods and the NCP inner tie rods from napa. new idler/pitman arm from napa (NCP part as well). Im still on the original idler/pitman arm and have replaced both inner tie rods (both were faulty parts from the MFG come to find out) and 1 outer tie rod from trying to do a full boost 4wd launch with the t-bars cranked and blown out shocks, surprisingly all it did was crack the inner race that the ball rides on. Im at 45k with this kit and still goin (well when the new motor comes).

I use to run the truck hard in 4wd and my lift did not help this. when my lift as at 8" i had horrible CV angles and steering angles. it was a large contributor to my wear problems. plus the fact i would constantly use 4wd out playing in the cinders up steep hills at WOT, do boosted 4wd launches without touching the t-bars, go rock crawlin out in sedona, and 4wd drifts when it snowed. it was only about 25k ago i lowered the truck 1.5"s and leveled all the steering and cv angles out but i also stopped beatin on the truck as i had my samurai to do it in then.

I know some of this stuff may seem far fetched (specially since ive never broke a CV , you would think with the way my angles were i should have) and i dont have a way to prove what its been through but i know ill put an exaxt kit on any truck i get that is '10 or older, even if its completely stock. Hope this helps someone
