Alright I just bought a 07 2500 HD ccsb New body style with no engine, trans, tcase, has 5" straight pipe that dump behind axle, 20" XD diesel rims, still has ECM which has been tune with efi live, dsp5 switch, 2 gauge pillar, body in perfect condition, truck was a repo so I got it pretty cheap $4000, also ended up getting the heads, turbo, intake, oil pan, grill, headlights all bolts to put front back together, and a bunch of other parts off the truck from the previous owner for a couple hundred bucks. Thought about building a LMM for it but figured I would end up spending way to much money on it, plus still have to get trans and tcase, so I found a 2011 LML Duramax with trans and tcase and all electronics (minus ECM ) out of truck along with all wiring from headlight to trailer plug, and the radiator and all that stuff with 68000 miles. Just orders egr delete with up pipe, new 3" down pipe, intake bridge, with resenator delete and pvc reroute, figured all that would be easy to do with engine out of truck, plan on using the 5" exhaust already on truck just have to modify to line up with LML down pipe, Sorry for rambling on about all that, now I have trouble trying to find an ECM, I been told there are two of them that could be use for that engine that year? Anyone here clear that up for me? And I am wanting to get efi live 5 tunes with all deletes for LML. My question about that is I noticed when ordering the efi live tunes and stuff they need vin number now if I put my vin in it will show it being an 07 LMM duramax not the 11 LML duramax? And does anyone offer ECMs with efi live tunes already them? And where would be the best place to sell the extra parts off old LMM? Any info would be great appreciated guys! Thanks Josh

I will try and keep this thread up dated on the progress of the truck!

Lml won't work unless you want to spend lots of fun coupons. Sell the Lml and get you a Lmm. It's cheaper thata way. No dsp5 for Lml, cp4, pissed of ecm, to many negatives for the Lml. Lmm= delete and enjoy

I think you're opening one BIG can of worms here with this one. Find an lmm or lbz engine, use all the lmm wiring, and bolt it back together. Lml is quite a bit different in basically every aspect. Even if you could get it all wired in, who knows what would have to be altered even to make it run.

Sell the lml engine and trans and get an LBZ or lmm .. Or find a 2011+ truck to stuff that in and sell. The truck you have right now

Am I missing something or doesn't the LML ECM speak the same language for GM LAN as the LMM? The worst case is you'll have the reprogram the BCM, ECM and Passlock 2 module and "marry" them together - shouldn't be an issue outside of if you mess up the wiring.

Well I already opened the can of worms, plus I like a good challenge! I looked it all over today and started switching out wiring harness, everything look like it is going to work just fine, power steering pumps are different but that is a minor detail! I don't see much of an issue with it it either, I got all the wiring and all electronics (except ECM) out of the 2011 truck, bcm, tcm, a bunch of other boxes!
I will this updated on the progress and let ya all know what problems I run into! It wouldn't be fun if it was easy!

It would be easier to machine the heads out for LMM injectors and go with a cp3 and LMM lines and rails then just use the trucks harness..

11-14 LML is basically plug and play into an 07.5-10 LMM truck. Are you guys forgetting its the exact same electrical architecture.......?

I thought the ecm had to be faster for the pizeo injectors? So the lmm ecm can control the lml injectors?
That's not at all what he's saying.

He's talking about the overall wiring/form of communication all the vehicle modules are.

No. The LML engine wiring harness, ECM, and all that will plug into an LMM fuse block and be compatible with the rest of the body/chassis/interior harnesses and electrical system.

I thought they were, but I wasnt sure about things like VATS, tow/haul, tap shifter, gauges, and so on. Sometimes something as simple as just an a/c turn on can drive you nuts.

So far it looks like LML wiring plugs will plug into LMM fuse block, some things are different like battery cable lengths and other lil things!
So would I have to change the boxes in the cab like the bsm, on star, the sensor around the ignition, gps and all other stuff for radio and nav and gauges?
It also look like engines mounts are different on LML, they are straight across from each other where as LMM are offset a lil bit, it appears that ya can move the engine point forward on passenger side to make fit, will look into it more this weekend when I off work. Any body ever put an LML block in LMM truck?
My parts should be in by Friday for the egr delete, down pipe, new up pipe, pvc reroute, intake bridge, and resenator delete! I have never done done any of those with engine in truck but I can only imagine how big of a pain it would be to get the down and up pipes off! It only took about an hour to take all off with engine out of truck!
I will post more pic as I make more progress, I new at the whole form thing so let me know if there is more info ya all want to know or any thing! Oh and it doesn't have the fass fuel pump it has the air dog 165!
Thanks for all the replies to guys, I appreciate all the info!
