Put the Dmax, and new hitch, to work.

Had to haul this excavator up a mountain (maybe 35-40%grade?) and then to the jobsite. Not sure on the gvw, but I figure it was alot.

It made the LB7 work, but it pulled it. Only issue was an upshift at an inopertune time going over the mountain and lost alot of momentum.
Tapshift would have been great...along with the 06 tow mirrors :D

Thanks guys, and girl :D

My truck is definately multipurpose...the past weekend it made the ~1500 mi round trip to TS...hauled the excavator pictured on Tuesday...and hauled more equipment yesterday. It also seems to find the occasional street race...and mudhole

Thats why I bought mine. The racing and sled pulling just kind of came along once I found out what else you could do with these trucks. :D

Isnt that how 99% of us did it?

(Pat and Kat are part of the 1% that bought their truck to race it first)

I love towing with my truck, Especially going up large hills!:)

Nice work there!

Thanks Tim.

I put it back to work today -

First took the empty gooseneck to the jobsite this morning.

Finished the excavating and hauled the skidloader to another job, finished that job, then returned it.

Brought the gooseneck back and unhooked it, and hooked up the the small 7K bumper pull trailer to haul a zero-turn mower.

Went and picked up the mower and took it to my Dad.

Returned the mower, then put the 2' sides on the bumper pull trailer and hauled a load of mulch.

Unloaded the mulch, brought the trailer back, unhooked it and hooked to the gooseneck again.

Took the gooseneck back to the original jobsite and loaded the excavator (pictured in first post) then hauled it about ~45mi (including one mountain) to return it.

The Dmax, and the Alli :D, didn't skip a beat...but I REALLY need to invest in 06 tow mirrors.

Did you get an aftermarket hitch on? ("new hitch")

Had to do a double take on what "she found" t, b, close enough.

You aint kidding on loosing a little speed on the hills in central PA. Passing thru there today with a trailer, the semi in front of me was smoking his brakes on every downhill for about 5 miles. I was trying to keep a good distance away from him.
He totally blew a 4way stop, dont know if he couldnt stop in time or didnt see it. About Germantown area a cop got behind me and the semi 3-4 cars up was stinking so bad I was afraid the cop would think it was me, I pulled off into a diner pkg lot and let the cop pass.
Sucks when its up and down and you cant keep your own pace going

Haha...it's a "t" :D

Where you on I80?...the highest point East of the Mississippi is on there, according to the sign anyhow. I wouldn't want to tow very heavy across there.

Germantown is down near Philly iirc?

With all the mountains around here good trailer brakes are a must have. I usually run mine on the heavy side to keep from wearing out the brakes on the truck...also seems to help the horrendous downshifting in T/H.

On the "new hitch", I was refferring to my B&W turnover gooseneck hitch...just installed it a week prior to the first post.

I was going I80 (past snow shoe, the highest point on 80) turned south at Bloomsburg, 42 to 61 (I think). Been that way 3 or 4 times in the past few months.

Getting pretty now that the leaves are growing

Germantown near Ashland
