Hey everyone.

My name is Dave and I live in Central NY. Im looking into purchasing a used 2011 2500 4 door long bed 4x4. The issue is it has 149,000 miles on it . I have not gone to see it in person yet, just wanted to get some feedback. It is a PA truck.

I have driven a 2007 duramax 3500 for plowing in a previous job and was pretty impressed. It started right up even when it was -20F at 1am without ever being plugged in or adding fuel additive :thumb:. That truck had 98,000 miles on it at the time and had recently had all its injectors changed.

Would you guys shy away from purchasing such a new truck with that many miles? The car fax has some semi-questionable things on it as far as Im concerned although nothing major.

if a few of you would take the time to look Id appreciate it.

Also, any known problems or things I should look for / expect to need replacing? It will be a daily driver that I rely on. I will however not be doing any serious towing/hauling. Just like the 4 door, want a long bed and a diesel. :woott:

Any advice or help I can get would be greatly appreciated.

It could have the head gasket issues some of the early lml's apparently had. I say this bc the coolant res tank was replaced and it was sold within 7,000 miles of the repair. Not a definite red flag but it got my attention. The mileage is nothing to worry about either, there is a guy on diesel place who just bought one with almost 800,000 on it... lol... He reports that it runs like a top!

What do you think the likelihood of that would be? Sounds like a pretty expensive / rigorous repair that I really don't want to deal with.

I was concerned about the running board repair and new tire at first but now it just sounds like a tire blowout. The res tank was also a concern though I wasn't sure why. Just seemed like an odd thing to need replacing.

I personally think $27,000 is a bit high for that many miles. Am I just cheap?

If it still has all the smog stuff on, all kinds of things might start going bad concerning emissions.

An lml with 800k??

And I agree with mike on the emissions stuff. I would figure on deleting it ASAP if that is possible where you live. If $27,000 is what they are asking then they will settle for less.
