I'm running full hydro steering in my LB7 mud truck, and at idle, the brakes and steering hardly work. It's already been flushed, so that isn't the problem. Has anyone put a smaller pulley on the pump to overdrive it a little, or is there anything that can be ported inside the pump to increase flow?

i know of guys that have shimmed the pressure relief valve but that wont help your idle issue (i also know of guys that have blown pumps up from just adding one shim). you need a bigger pump overall. porting and what not still wont move the fluid you need for the ram. a bigger pump like PSC sells is about the only way to go.

I ended up going with a PSC SP1404 direct replacement pump. It was definitely worth the coin. The truck has full hydro steering, and before I had to rev it to get it to turn while sitting still, or to stop very well. Now I can turn it with 1 finger and it stops on a dime.
