Steering box is leaking, so thats gotta be replaced, gonna grab a local parts store reman.

The PS lines looked lousy when I did the pitman arm so might as well repalce them while I am removing the box.

the MA and strictly diesel is the same Kit. Not sure on the Alligator ones, the pic looks like it uses the factory hard lines, splice and flare both ends and then use the braided section to replace the leaky hydraulic lines

Or just ACdelco replacements, which comes to about a third of the price....

I have the strictly lines. They are nice for sure. Fit well, had all the necessary brackets, etc. Little pricey but I do like the hydro line over braided, should last forever. DHD actually says you get some pump noise through the braided line vs no pump noise with hydro line.

Thats what I do. Just make sure they clock them properly and use smooth crimps. Dont let them talk you into swivels, they are expensive and just make their job easier. I use braided stainless steel on mine.

Its not the rubber thst fails, its the bubble crimps they use on the connection between the hard and soft portion.

I had to lengthen mine due to my hotpipe rubbing on the line at the hydraboost. I bought a used JIC flare tool from Ebay and flared mine and then bought the hose loose, mocked it up, cut and then brought them back to have crimped. The line at the pump I had to have welded on as there was no room used the flare tool. Going to do the same thing with the transmission lines...

Fortunate for me I have a hydraulic hose shop about 5-10 minutes from me, may want to check some NAPA stores can repair hoses.

In an effort to maintain the OE aspect to the truck and not deal with aftermarket stuff, I ordered AC Delco lines, and a reman pump from Rock Auto. While I miss getting fancy stuff, the wallet does not :)

Mike, I will try and be gentle when removing the old lines, with any luck they will be out this week. I will keep you posted.

I wish I could have learned that 3 yrs ago. I'd be so rich it wouldn't be funny

Nothing on power steering system has been changed that a stock line will not fit with a little manipulation/bending of the hardline. Any and all modifications I do are with the intent of easily being reversed back to stock with little effort. Open the hood and it looks like a stock engine that has a sock on the hot pipe, kinda sleepy looking and I spend only a little at time

Like I said, if I had a local hydraulic shop I trusted and had some down time to run back & forth, I would def do that option.

Maybe when I replace the hydroboost I will redo the lines.
