Proper way of extending harness?

I have been gathering parts for a s400 swap over the last few months on my LBZ. A few things I want to relocate in order to clean up the bay a little.

One is the GPCM. Now I know some folks move this to the small stud thats already on the firewall but I had planned on putting it else where. Possibly near the fuse box. Another is the TCM. I want to go to an electric fan eventually and the TCM will be relocated.

So how are you guys properly extending the harnesses?

It would be really nice to source some of the same grade TXL wire in the proper colors for each specific harness but I have no idea whats involved in that. Soldering every connection is a must as well as high quality heat shrink.

Its a slightly rhetorical question in a way, but Im just curious how others are doing it and staying trouble free.

You can drill holes in the fuse box cover and use those "Christmas tree" or push lock fasteners similar to what's in the fender liners to secure the tcm against the side. You don't need to extend the harness for it to reach

I like a clean firewall look. And I also plan on using that stud for a fuel distribution block bracket.

Not sure if the wires will reach but under the fender support on that side there is also room to tuck it away out of sight. I'd put mine there but I have a power distribution block and 60amp fuse there now.
