It should be a good set up dale. The motor was build to withstand a little bite of hp. Tranny is build so im good on the performance part. Only thing i did was went with points instead of electronic igntion. There is just something about points i live. I am about to be getting my ppe lift pump and a couple other goodies to help support the power before i add it all.
I hope to be putting the finshing touchs on her this weekend. Fired the motor on the stand again just so i could here it run. Sounds sweet. Friday saturday and sunday is booked.
You must really love wrenching if you put points on it-lots of extra work. I haven't touched a points ignition system in at least 5 years maybe more. You need a lot of talent to tune them up, or do it often to keep good at it.
Everything went good today fired the motor up in the truck and gave her hell. Nothing beats the sound of a sb chevy with a cam.
On a side note i know the motor has a little bite of torque because i just put 2 brandnew motors mounts on it and i broke my drive side mount. So i will be taking it easy for a little while until i get some badass motor mounts made.
