project "DIVORCE" has began, behind the scenes of course! starting to gather parts, JoshH is a bad influence!!

Carillo's are at TNG thanks to Josh. Socal 6460 cam and springs are here. Just need push rods, gaskets and then the toughest of all decisions is WHICH FRIGG'N PISTON?? :mad:

No rush of course, just building inventory for the inevitable. :thumb:

Its about time. Look forward to seeing what this truck will do when you turn it up. As far as pistons go, I have yet to see a single complaint with Finger's cast oval bowls. My one regret during my motor build is going with delipped stockers, it is a constant fear in the back of my head.

Edit: Is project "divorce" because you are newly single or because you think she'll leave you once she sees the credit card bill lol

Piston choice is easier when you know what you want to do with the truck, how often you want to drive it DD style, etc.

Glad to see your going to build it Russel. Good luck with the piston choice. Call Mark @ Danville and talk to him about pistons. He will point you in the right direction.

The hp goal is questionable. Not real sure. I enjoy driving my truck, usually like I stole it! But I also use it for towing and work so cast pistons are going to be the best bet.

Josh and I have been talking a lot lately about it. I know I will need to cut the miles down after we build it but most of the fun is driving it everyday. Just tough to cut back on seat time.

Best case scenario would be my brother and I buy a reg can and drop the build in there. Then I can cut the LMM back and continue enjoying it everyday. Or I buy a new truck, but I don't really want a new truck...

It sounds stupid, but there are so many pieces to the build puzzle it's rediculous. Just have to pick a combo and run with it. :thumb: maybe I should have just stopped at the built trans...:confused:

Going to see how the motor stays together after diesel nationals. Not showing her any mercy. Tune 4 runs 11's, tune 3 is right behind it and gets pounded on daily. Truly a testimony to the duramax!! No complaints

What are all the cast piston options? I know there are quite a few options for forged. If I get to build my engine again, I am planning on get finger pistons.

Why cut the miles back Russ? I try to when I can in my rig but it's hard to do lol. It sees more highway miles than city miles and most of the time with a trailer on the back

Everytime I put the key in my truck's ignition, and hear her start as I make that turn I feel like I just hit the jackpot on a slot machine... Anyone else feel this way? Lol
