This is coppied over so bare with the out of orderness...I will keep it updated as time goes on. I neglected to update it while doing most of the build because i was in the middle of a move and career change. Any questions or comments are welcome and ill do my best to answer them. I enjoy fabrication and diesel performance and in the future plan to expand my hobby to a part time shop. Ive established the name Durrty South Diesel for about 4 years now just working on friends and local trucks. In the next few months be expecting a compound build thread on my buddies lb7 that is our tow rig.

Well to make a really long story somewhat short ha. Some may remember my arrival blue ext cab build, ended up selling it and went thru about 4 trucks before getting back into a dmax.
I picked up this 2005 crew cab for dirt cheap because of a knock and white smoke issue and it sat for over a year neglected. It also needs some body work where a trailer got jackknifed. I figured it was a injector issue. The trans had been built already and had 30 overs installed at the time head gaskets and studs where done. all less than 10k miles on them when the issue started. I picked it up and drained the oil and checked for fuel or metal shavings and it looked fine, coolant looked fine as well.

Decide to snatch the motor and send injectors out to have them serviced and 60 over nozzles installed. cp3 is a T&C mild unit. also fabbing up a s366 single setup and powercoating engine parts....ive got alot done so there will be tons of pics off the bat! So in these first few post will be what ive currently done.
-pulled engine
-sent injectors off
-cleaned interior
-sanded painted firewall foward of frame
-installed drop shackles
-cleaned harness
-painted hundreds of bolts brackets and accesories
-paint stripped shit green rattle can paint job
-powdercoated engine parts
-started body work
and some other stuff im forgetting but should be self explanatory and i can answer any questions as well
so heres the goodies so far!...

starting body work on shaved tailgate

and the final teaser!

Injectors should be here this week from MG Diesel and the rest of the engine will be assembled and dropped back in the truck. Also have a ppe lift pump installed and a dual filter setup on the way that ill be mounting along the frame rail and deleting the stock filter head. Im 3 weeks into the build since picking the truck up and over 100 hours. I was at a stand still for about a week for powdercoat and other parts so it should go rather quick from here on out.

Future plans are to either fab my own 3'' y bridge and cold side pipe or go with aftermarket.
Also need to have my intake tube and intercooler pipes powdercoated along with the trac bars i built.
Add a DHD brace and idler and pitman braces to go with my sleeves just for added security when i launch it hard.
and possibly add meth and see how far i can push it. Im hoping for low 12s at it sits now.
the only time i ran it was on the previous tunes and off idle in 4hi. went 13.2 @ 113 with a 2.1 60ft

Definitely have a winner here! I love it when someone digs in, like you have, nice work man!

Love the stance and look, what's the suspension set up, is that stock with the overloads removed? It looks lower...

The front is stock keys with t bar bolts removed, rear is 3'' shackles with overload and 4th leaf pulled. Pulled the front sway bar as well. And i built 60'' track bars to prevent axle wrap and hop. Rides great still.

thanks for the appreciation. i did dive deep into it, im only 24 and ive had passion for LSx and duramax for quite awhile. i plan on opening up my shop within the next year and focus on fab work on turbo kits, and engine building. My buddy is saving up for his compound setup now and i will be doing all the fab work on it as well.

Everyone that checks the truck out is very impressed with my work, i seem to underestimate myself because i dont find it to be that big of a deal because it all comes natural to me. Everything has been self taught, i just picked up a small tig machine and plan on doing some aluminum work soon, a coolant tank for starters most likely.

Got my new tunes in from Rob today. updated my autocal an flashed them in.
The weather here is crappy and the roads are to wet to do any kind of pulls. i did take it for a quick cruise and so far ive noticed much smoother throttle response and not so much jerking an lunging on take off. egts seem to be right around 600-700 mild throttle accelarating. i rolled into about 3/4 throttle on tune 3 witch is my daily driver tune and it instantly broke loose. so ill have to wait till it drys up to get better results.

the tunes he setup for me are 1.Mild 2.light tow (even tho i will never tow) 3. DD 4. High Performance 5. Maxxed Out
