There are a few techniques. It depends on camshaft selection if you can do the OEM recommended way. I never do it that way just to make sure the lash is adjusted correctly anyway. I prefer opening one valve on that cylinder that is being adjusted to near full open and adjust the closed valve. I usually do .011 on intake and .012 on exhaust. I have done .010 on intake as well. I think factory specs are .012 on intake and .013 on exhaust.
