It all started with a light haze that smelled like diesel coming from the exaust. Then a week ago I had a couple injectors fail so we get a brand new set of injectors and the diesel smell is gone but it is smoking a lot more now with nothing coming out the oil fill like when I melted the pistons. All the balance rates look great and ran a compression check today and they were all close to the same.Coolant level hasn't changed in 10 months.Plan on bringing it to a buddys shop monday but is there anything else that I should be checking?Any advice is appriciated.

This may be the dumbest response ever, but could the coolant from your turbo be leaking slowly into your exhaust? No idea if that's it or not, just trying to help.:)

it seems like a buddy of mine had that problem on his lmm ended up not being anything major..... something to do with the egr cooler thing on the drivers side???somehow it was letting a small amount of coolant into the cylinder. it started like that but progressivly got worse...sorry bout the ignorance on the egr vocab... ive got an lb7:thumb:

Does it smoke after it gets up to temperature? My lbz even when it was basically new if it had a tune in it bigger than the ppe160 all the way up tp the tune Rob built for it, it would smoke during start up when it started to get colder outside. Anything around 50 degrees it would haze but then go away once it got warm. I figured it was an lbz thing. I put the intake heater delete in it also and it was a little worse. Everything checked out good with it so I didn't worry about it.

Have you checked the downpipe for oil? You could have an oil ring going bad in the exhaust side of the turbo and if thats the case it will smoke all day and possibly run away.

Tried bypassing the oil supply to the charger all together and let it run for a while but still smoked.Decided to pull the motor and tear it down again.:(Pulled the heads and pistons last night.Pistons and rings look fine:confused:Nothing visibly wrong withe the heads but will bring to the machine shop tommorow to have checked.Hope to find something soon and get it back together.

Heads checked out good, and after showing the pistons and rings to machinist he said that must have glazed over cylinders and the rings wasn't sealing off properly. Now I plan on getting some new rings and honing the cylinders.Hopefully this fixes everything.
