I tuned a friends LMM with some tunes from Danville. Stock truck - DPF, egr intact. I rarely ever use my V2 so it was still on 7.5.5 and wouldn't open. No problem there Mark had me DL the latest version (V8) and I tuned the truck w/ the DSP5.
On now to the initial problem: He's experiencing what he describes as the turbo cutting out and excessive smoking during highway driving with a bit of a load. Also he cant tell the tunes are changing.
And my problem: I can't get the scan tool to work on this V8, it has my whole EFI screwed up because I have to use the old scan tool and the new tune tool. To add to my problems I can't view the tune to see how the egr is set up and for some reason the scan tool says the DSP5 pids are invalid on the LMM but I can view/ log them on my LBZ, therefore preventing me from seeing if the switch is working and what tune it's on.
I returned it to stock last night and this morning got a call that he had reduced engine power (DPF is deleted). I flashed in a temporary single tune from a friend to get him going, but I really need to get the tuning he had working. Thanks in advance guys

Unplug his EGR valve, I'll bet it's cycling erratically

You said Dpf/egr intact, but now its deleted? Have you called Mark? Maybe there was a miscommunication on what tunes he needed.

no idea. I sent him the stock tune and he sent me what I have now

I had read that, but thought if I did it might blow open ??

The email I sent to him said all stock with no dpf. I plan to call him as soon as I get a few more min. First thing is determining if the switch is working I guess.

Put a blocker plate in the EGR. I've tried leaving the EGR in, and they will roal coal without a blocker plate installed. The boost will pop it open and flow without a blocker plate installed regardless of what the EGR is set for.

I'll get one coming, I figure it's my safest bet. Mark told me to unplug it but It won't hurt to go that extra step I guess. Is V7.5.7 build 245 what I need ? I have build 246 from the V8 download and that's what didnt work for scanning the DSP5. Somethings wrong with the PID files, I only have 56 seems like there were 100+ before. And the DSP5 pids still show not supported.
