problem with my diesel

I have a 2006 3500 reg cab long bed srw duramax with 30k on it and i went to rest my trip and fuel economy last nite when I filled the truck up and it wont reset everything else works with the buttons on the steering wheel but that. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about these problems or if maybe I just did somthing to it. thanks for anyones help

try resetting it with the push in button in the dash it self top right side.

that did work is there any reason why the button wouldnt be working like some sort of recall or anything through GM ?
