I am installing my tie-rod sleeves and needed to replace my Inner and outer ends as well...(BOOTS are BUSTED!!!)

I have a gap/space of about 1" between the INNER BOOT and the sleeve.. The gap doesn't seem to be there in Pat's install HOW-TO photo's!!!!

Is this OK.. I couldn't even turn mine more than 5 turns by hand.. Had to double up nuts on shaft and turn with 2 wrenches!! I even us3d some copper anti-size on the threads!!!

THANKS,
WILL

You want to thread the nut down to the outer end then follow tighten the sleeve up against the nut. There will not be enough small diameter tie rod left to bend. I haven't bent mine and 1" of exposed shaft will take an extreme amount of force. The problem is the length and the leverage they will bend in the middle not just an the inch from the end.
Good luck,
Jon

Oh, the alignment guys need that little 1" of room to get a vice grips on there to do an adjustment otherwise they would have to remove the sleeve to adjust the tie rod.
As far as being hard to turn mine went on pretty easy, you might of had some grit or something get in the threads all though the truck looks very clean!
