Problem after trying boosted launch

I was going to do a boosted 4wd launch, got up to about 25psi and had to let off. I went to stage it up again and now the rpm's wont go over 900, it acts like its in valet mode. Truck still seems to drive fine and still builds boost while regular driving, just wont do it with foot on brake trying to do a boosted launch. No cel, no codes. The turbo does sound a little different when shifting in and out of park and the truck seems to want to lunge between park, reverse and drive. Anybody got ant ideas whats going on?

I didnt launch it, i was just messing around last night trying to find a sweet spot but then after letting off after getting to 25 psi it would no longer build rpm's over 900

you shouldnt be boosting it anywhere near 25psi is what im saying, a good launch can be had around 8-10 psi, i dont know much but you might have hurt the turbo..

I've hit that psi before practicing as well. You say it lurches pretty hard now when shifting? Like it's trying to push through the brakes a little harder? May have cooked the converter?

Thats kind of what I was wondering seeing that he's saying a 900 stall

Well it finally let loose, i was out checking it out trying to figure out what was going on and got a loud bang and now wont move forward and only has reverse. Fluid is black, guess its time for another build. Not sure if the converter is good or not so I guess its getting a new one as well

would you assume it was the converter not letting it go above 900 rpm's? Not sure what else failed but i was holding it at 900 and it all of a sudden shot up to about 3000 without moving

I guess staging it up to 25psi is to much for the converter? shouldnt it hold that anyhow? And when i say 25psi, it was for probably 3 seconds.

The question is how long were you holding it on the brakes to get it to spool up that high and then how long you held it there. Couple that to how many times have you done this and how hot was it when you started spooling it? ANY converter can be cooked if you beat on it to hard to many times.

I left the line around 30psi a bunch of times with my old ML. It was still doing fine when I replaced it. Just wanted something different. May have had a bad converter to begin with. How long has it been together.
