So I bought a pre tuned ECM from a friend of mine for my 2004 LB7. It came out of his 2001 LB7. When I installed it into my truck, the Bose CD player reads LOCKED and the truck wolnt turn over 2000 RPM's. I understand this is a locked ECM to keep others from being able to see the tuning, but I thought it should plug and play just the same in mine as it does in his?? Any idea's as to why this wouldnt work? ITs a Kenedy Tuned ECM, but I cant get a hold of him til Monday. Figured I would try here fist. Thanks!!

Well different years is the start of your problems, the second part is that your trucks probably have different options which will cause the Bose problem...Probably gonna have to wait to talk to Kennedy...
Well that sucks! LOL Figured LB7 was LB7 and so on. Guess I'll wait till Monday and see what John has to say. Thanks.
NEGATIVE! LB7's and LLY's are PICKY as to what operating system is loaded in the ECM. 01-02 aren't so bad, but 03-05 MUST be correct for EVERY option installed in the truck. 06+ aren't very picky though.
Guess your lucky that you didn't lose your AC as well. The options that your buddy's 2001 LB7 has will be the only options that will now work in your truck.
If he didn't have climate control, and your truck does...it doesn't when you run that ECM.
