Man still 'critical' after U.S. 30 crash
A Convoy man whose motorcycle was hit by a sports utility vehicle Wednesday at the intersection of U.S. 30 and Richey Road remains in critical condition this morning at a Fort Wayne, Ind., hospital.
Douglas Bogle, 34, was taken to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne following the accident, which happened at approximately 7 Wednesday morning.
According to troopers from the Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Bogle was riding a 1999 Yamaha motorcycle east on U.S. 30 when a 2004 GMC Envoy driven by Kathleen Overmyer, 42, of 6814 Pollock Road, Convoy, who was northbound on Richey Road, failed to see the motorcycle and pulled out into the intersection, causing the collision.
Bogle was thrown from the motorcycle and onto the roadway as a result of the collision. He was first taken to Van Wert County Hospital by Brickner Ambulance Service and was then transferred to Parkview.
Overmyer was not injured in the crash, which remains under investigation.
Convoy Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
