Rebuilt with PPE Stage 5 kit everything in trans works like it should except....

Trans has a BAD defuel between shifts and when the shift comes in it feels like it is going to rip the driveshaft out of the vehicle. we checked and reset taps. drove the truck at least 300 miles changed fuel filter reset taps again drove another 100 plus miles and will not smooth out. anyone that can help with good info would be appreciated.

I'm not sure what everyone's obsession is with constantly relearning and expecting it to magically fix everything.

im just amused at the sudden influx of home clutch replacers having trans shifting issues and having no idea where to start to fix the issue

Now for all you great trans guy's that are know it all's without asking why,,, I was doing what I was told by Dan at PPE what he felt could be the problem and he told me to reset the taps again to make sure it didn't have bad habits from the old tune. like I said I reset taps at the 1st start up of truck when the trans was 1st put in and Dan said to do it a second time.. 300 miles is more than enough to get the shifts to smooth out but they haven't not one bit. oh by the way this is not the 1st time building the Allison but the 1st time having problems with hard shifts so for you jackasses who want to come on here and trash talk like you never had any problems **** off and go troll somewhere else as I am looking for real help

Have you scanned it while it's happening check what the rail pressure is doing? How about main line pressure have you watched it while driving? Did you reset the taps and put it in fastlearn with a Tech2?

What year truck and mods? Maybe try another TCM out of a good running truck

Just curious, b/c I am in no way a "great trans guy", but wasnt that the symptom of the drum seal being torn? I'm probably wrong.

bmos, James had a point there. I think they're all getting tired of having to long-distance diagnose "trans builders" poor build issues, as its getting to be an epidemic.
I even read it in Mike's posts, and he'll help just about anyone.

This went Jerry Springer quick. I find people like to help you more when you call them names and talk junk, lol.

EDIT: I find people DON'T like to help you when you call them names and talk junk, lol.

Hmmm... how many transmissions have you built that had issues. Enough to say you need to stop touching them until you have a real trans builder to teach you about the Allison.
