was gonna bump up to level three (120hp) and it says at this level a pyro gauge is highly recommended as long as idont do prolonged wot will it be safe till i can get a temp guage?

Yes it will be fine. But just remember you can't tell how fast it gets hot. And you never know how long is to long.
i had it for long time on level 4 and the temps never got above 12 and that was on hill towing. never did topspeed tho
